Born in Arica, Chile in 1967. After obtaining his degree in Music from the Universidad de Chile, Morales-Ossio began his composition studies in 1992 at the Faculty of Arts at the same university. He pursued his Master degree studies in Barcelona, at the Audiovisual Institute of the Pompeu Fabra University with Gabriel Brncic, and then in France at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, with Philippe Manoury and Marco Stroppa. He also studied music informatics with Denis Lorrain. Since 2003, he has been working as a professor at the Universidad Católica de Chile, where he teaches Composition and Electroacoustic Music. Currently, he pursues a PhD degree at the University of Huddersfield, where he works his research with Liza Lim. His main investigation is focused on collaboration and distributed creativity as composition strategy. His pieces have been played in Europe, United States and Latin America. His music includes a wide rage of different formats: chamber music, soloist, orchestra, with or without electroacoustic parts, music for dance, experimental musical theater, etc.
