Irine Røsnes

Irine Røsnes is a passionate advocate for new music and innovative ways of thinking and making art. Educated in Bergen, Düsseldorf, Utrecht and Chicago, she consider Elisabeth Perry, Ilya Kaler and Irvine Arditti her most influential teachers. Irine is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Huddersfield, where she is investigating the performative aspects of repertoire for violin and electronics through her project “Theater of Transformations”. Ms. Røsnes has previously appeared as soloist, concertmaster, ensemble, and orchestral player throughout Europe and North America. In recent years she has performed at music festivals such as Huddersfield Contemporary, Borealis, Gaudeamus, Icycle Creek and Chicago New Music. She is a dedicated educator, organiser and an activist for new music and social equality.
